Minnesota Timberwolf Corey Brewer will be in training on Monday due to travel problems to our attention that the guard may finally be on its way to the door after rumors every day.

A few hours later, The Denver Post reported that the Denver Nuggets have changed their marginalized superstar Carmelo Anthony to New York Knicks - with a little help from the Minnesota Timberwolves - a team of three players from 12 mega-deal, Brewer sends in New York and wolves are with Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry.

Here is the breakdown.

Denver gets:

Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and a 2014 first-round draft pick, additional picks and cash

New York gets:

Carmelo Anthony, Chauncy Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter, Renaldo Balkman and Corey Brewer.

Minnesota gets:

Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry.

The Wolves would not comment on the trade late Monday night but it has been confirmed by multiple news outlets including ESPN, Yahoo and CBS.

The Wolves have been rumored to be interested in Randolph since last summer and have finally gotten their man. The 6-foot-11 forward/center was chosen 14th overall by the Golden State Warriors in 2008 before being traded to the Knicks last July.

Randolph is still thought to be a work in progress that will have more of an opportunity to play with this young Wolves team. In 2+ seasons in the NBA, he has averaged 8.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and .5 blocks in 17.7 minutes.

Anthony Tolliver was a teammate of Randolph's in Golden State and was asked about him Monday after practice, hours before the trade went down.

"I actually never played with him," Tolliver said. "He was hurt the entire second half of the season. I know him a little bit. He's a very talented player. It will be interesting to see how he handles the triangle (offense). He seems more of an open-floor type player, 1-on-1 type of player but I'm not the GM."

"If someone like that were to get on the team, I would assume there would be a reason for it. I am going to do my job and allow everyone else to do theirs."

Tolliver may have been a bit skeptical about Randolph partly because he will be one of the players losing playing time off the bench along with rookie Nikola Pekovic.

It may seem odd for a team that gives up a league-worst 109 points-per-game to give up the one player on the roster that seems to make defense a priority but Brewer's contract is up at the end of the season and he doesn't seem to be in the team's long-term plans. By not extending him last summer, they all but admitted such.

The Wolves have a glut of shooting guards/small forwards with Martell Webster, Wesley Johnons and Wayne Ellington all in the mix so Brewer was expendable.

This is not the blockbuster move that many Wolves fans were hoping for but it is another young piece with potential that was acquired for a small price.

The other piece the Wolves receiver, Eddie Curry, will never put on a Wolves' jersey, he will be waived immediately and the Wolves will receive cash to help buy-out the veterans' expiring contract.
