French For Fat Tuesday 2011


I bet you do not know "Mardi Gras" is French for Fat Tuesday 2011. We all know what Mardi Gras is a celebration and a host of parades with masked dancers and women flashing and of course you can not forget the pearls purple, black and gold, they are everywhere. And you probably know that Mardi Gras is a day dedicated to celebrating all your favorite treats and festive day and night, but many do not know the reasons for this. What is Mardi Gras? It is customary to carry out all the food on the last night before giving up and begin the fast of Lent, which begins the following days: Ash Wednesday.

Over the years the holiday has included not only Catholics but all religions and people and Mardi Gras has become a big party for New Orleans that visitors from all cities and states to flock to New Orleans to celebrate the festival every year! the party is not the only practice that takes place, including practices popular celebrations wearing masks and costumes, dancing, wearing jewelry so much that can stand on your neck and take as possible responses.

As far as feasting goes, Mardi Gras is known for its popular gumbo dish, which has been a tradition for the holiday for many years.
