LA marks the 100th anniversary of Lucille Ball, Lucy on Saturday with a similar contest in Hollywood.
This year also marked the 60 th anniversary of his "I Love Lucy" television show. Ball died in 1987.
Hollywood has a new museum exhibition celebrates both the Ball and his show that opens on Thursday. The museum was designed to look competitive, and a celebration of the birthday cake.
There was also a screening of some films Theatre Egyptian Ballroom this week.
Ball's daughter Lucy Arnaz, told The Times in an interview this week that it's amazing how many people the love of his mother and his show. "I've heard similar stories from people in the same period, from decade to decade, as if the movie" Groundhog Day. "It 'strange to me."
