Aztec Lady Tigers

and 2011 track season ended Saturday at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and Four Corners best team finisher was the young Aztec Lady Tigers team that finished second in 4A. Lady Tigers finished in second place with 53 points behind the Los Alamos (74) and before the Albuquerque (47) and Kirtland Central fourth with 45 points.

It is the boys side, Kirtland, Piedra Vista and Aztec finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively.

area athletes won six titles in the state on day two meet.

Piedra Vista Nick Waterhouse won the 100 meters and 200 scripts for the Panthers.

The only other man to win a state title was Farmington High Aaron Gomez in the 300 meter hurdles. District 1-4A runners swept the podium in this race with Kirtland Central Ryder Hathaway Bloomfield number two and Austin Johnson finished third. Dallin Payne of Farmington was fifth in the race and Eric Miller finished sixth in Bloomfield.

Gerry Azteca Megan won two state titles at the meeting. She won the triple jump with a distance of 35 to 0650 and was part of Team Blue Ribbon 4x200 relay that also included Kendra Mitchell, Gabeheart Shelby and Erin Porter.

The 4x100 quartet was also a District 1-4A. Kirtland Maddi Tanner Kourtini Ashcroft, Shantel Foutz and Kalli Farnsworth won the race. Foutz also won honors in the 100 meter hurdles. Tanner took second place
