A wildfire in Colorado, named the “Boulder Fire”

Has been spreading across the Colorado foothills, prompting evacuations today. There have been reports of destroyed buildings but luckily no one has ended up injured so far.

The fire seems to have started at the Four Mile Canyon northwest of Boulder, where heavy smoke was surrounding the area. As a result of the fire, roads had to be closed while authorities estimate the size of the Boulder fire.

There are evacuation centers in place in Boulder and the village of Nederland, while shelter for livestock has been set up at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. There have been reports of destroyed buildings, though at this time authorities do not know exactly where are they located or how many buildings have been affected.
