Barcelona scored a 5-0 home win over Eibar

Lionel Messi scored four goals when Barcelona scored a 5-0 home win over Eibar on Saturday.

Barcelona had entered the game after a difficult week after it was reported that the club had hired a company to discredit several players and people associated with the club on social networks to protect President Josep Maria Bartomeu.

While the club denied these allegations, sources told ESPN that Club Bartomeus adviser Jaume Masferrer had been suspended.

However, everything was fine on the field as Messi showed his class with an impressive starter in 14 minutes, while cheating three defenders before showing incredible balance to throw the ball over goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.

Messi added a second after 37 minutes as he ran to Arturo Vidal's pass to crush the ball through Dmitrovic and in the far corner.

He completed his hat-trick in 40 minutes while using a loose defense. The Argentine striker tried to hit attacking teammate Antoine Griezmann, but the ball returned to Messi, who took his place.

New signing Martin Braithwaite ended up making his debut and had a hand in fourth as his efforts were saved on the way from Messi, but the 32-year-old still took the opportunity to sit around Dmitrovic before joining a network alternated empty three minutes

Artur added a fifth in 89 minutes when Barça returned to the top of the table.
