I guess sometimes it is difficult to put a name to a face until I started researching this article. Oh, what memories I shared with my Grandpa and Dad watching old movies that starred Ernest Borgnine.

One of my favorites was "The Wild Bunch" about a group of elderly bank robbers trying to make one last heist before going down in a "Blaze of Glory" before retiring their guns. I mostly remember Borgnine starring in the series "Little House on the Prairie" The Lord is my Shepherd Part 1 and 2 of the series. He played the role of Jonathan, a god-like role, living on a mountain where Laura Ingalls had run away to find God and found Jonathan instead. Borgnine always seemed to play a role as a kind and generous person, who always offers advice, playing roles that were strong and compassionate that the viewer could relate to their lives.

Borgnine's years of experience in films and role-playing in TV series have made him one of the legends of the acting world. With such honorable nominations and awards, Ernest Borgnine has received an Emmy at the age of 92, for his role on the series on ER just to name a few of his outstanding achievements during his lifetime acting career.
