A delighted Jessica Simpson flaunted her new engagement ring at department store appearance in Kansas City on Saturday.

The singer announced her engagement to NFL football player Eric Johnson today after just seven months of dating.

The news came less than two weeks after her ex-husband Nick Lachey announced he had proposed to long-time girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.
'They are thrilled!' Simpson's spokesperson said, adding that the couple became engaged late last week.
This will be the second wedding for Simpson, 30, who split from Nick, 37, in 2005 after three years of marriage.
Their married life was caught on cameras for their popular reality MTV show Newlyweds.

She told Elle magazine in 2007: 'Oh, it hurt me. Two or three weeks later? Yeah, I'd say it kind of hurt me.'
But Simpson eventually moved on, enjoying high-profile romances with singer John Mayer - who later said she was like 'sexual napalm' in bed - and Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo.
Simpson and Johnson, 31, began dating in May while he was estranged from his first wife, stylist Keri Johnson. Their divorce was finalised last month.
The Dukes of Hazzard star recently gushed about her athlete beau, who has played for the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints.
'This is just normal, thank God,' she said. 'He's very, very supportive. [I] couldn't ask for a better man in my life right now.'
As for her newly-engaged ex-husband, she insisted last week: 'I couldn't be more happy for Nick.'
