Standing on stage at the Miss World pageant 2010 last night in Sanya, China, a Kentucky native was crowned winner. Miss United States, Alexandria Mills, won the pageant. The young lady had been part of the festivities in finding one of the most beauitful women in the world at the 60th annual Miss World pageant.

Miss World 2010, Alexandria Mills was crying on stage after her win and looking on at the crowd in almost disbelief. The excited beauty queen seemed to take it all in for the moment and afterwards, started her duties as the new Miss World 2010 almost immediately.

As the final duty in her reign, Miss World 2009 Kaiane Aldorino removed the bejeweled crown to place it on the head of her successor as the new Miss World 2010.  Taking up her deserved position on the throne, Miss World 2010 was joined by first runner-up Botswana and second runner-up Venezuela.

Alexandria was almost lost for words at the excitement and emotion of the event:  “It’s a cliché but this really is a dream come true,’ she said.  “I can’t believe it’s happening to me.  My time has come.  I’m loving it!”

The glittering two-hour live TV spectacular to launch the 60th anniversary of Miss World 2010 showcased the beauty and talent of 115 of the World’s most incredible young women, who have spent one month enjoying the wonders of China.
